In 2016, the Montreal SPCA’s Investigations and Inspections Department received over 10,000 complaints and reports, and inspected 18,213 animals, all species combined.
The young ducks, who were destined for human consumption, were brought to our shelter where they immediately received care from the SPCA’s veterinary team.
In the months surrounding moving day, the number of animals abandoned at the Montreal SPCA nearly triples, from around 600 a month to approximately 1600.
